Lowdown: Billy Ray is a smart screenwriter, and I'm excited by the idea that he and Greengrass ("United 93," "Green Zone") are the ones telling the story of Captain Richard Phillips, whose cargo ship MV Maersk Alabama was the first American craft hijacked in two hundred years when Somali pirates commandeered it in 2009. Throw in Tom Hanks, who looks like he's going to have a huge year in 2013, and this becomes incredibly promising.
