7. 'The World's End'
Director: Edgar Wright
Cast: Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Martin Freeman, Rosamund Pike, Paddy Considine, Eddie Marsan
Release Date: October 25
Lowdown: Fans of 'Shaun Of The Dead' and 'Hot Fuzz' are no doubt already waiting to see this, the third film collaboration between Wright, Pegg, and Frost, but I'll be excited to see if this can finally break through to a larger audience. If anyone deserves it, these guys do, and this might finally be that moment for them. They play old friends, part of a group that gets together to try to re-enact a pub crawl they all participated in when they were younger, totally unaware that London is facing a very real threat of invasion at the same time. I love that Wright keeps casting Considine in comedies, and overall, this sounds like a big fat slice of fried gold.
