2011 Summer Tours
Last year was a tough one for the concert industry, but there’s no stopping the machine for churning out big and great acts again this summer. Pop artists like Britney Spears and Katy Perry, rappers like Lil Wayne, breakthroughs like Bon Iver and My Morning Jacket and traditional rockers like U2 and Coldplay are hitting the U.S. in the coming months, and we’re giving you a rundown of some of the dates, openers and highlights.
Granted, keep in mind that in-demand artists like Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber are off the road (for now). Rock and pop tend to be the name of the game when it comes to boxscores and sales. Some acts like Arcade Fire have already done their time in the U.S.; some artists are playing one a couple festivals (Eminem) and some are headlining enormous, long-lasting festivals, like Paramore on Warped Tour. Keep your eyes peeled for a future feature on fests.
And abide by the onsale dates: these tickets won’t buy themselves.
