I'm not prepared to jump on the "Jeffrey Tambor is a sure thing" bandwagon. As great as he is on "Transparent," Amazon is an unproven commodity when it comes to awards contention and, as ridiculous as it may sound, Jeffrey Tambor is an unproven commodity when it comes to the Golden Globes. He has six Emmy nods and zero Golden Globe nods. The two things Tambor has in his favor are that he's giving a career-best performance in "Transparent" and this field is really soft, even if you assume default nominations for Don Cheadle and a returning favorite Ricky Gervais.
