Loser: 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine'
Nobody saw Ricky Gervais and "Silicon Valley" coming. Still basking in the glory of shocking Golden Globe wins for Best Comedy and for star Andy Samberg, "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" was a popular pick to earn a pile of nominations for FOX. Instead, we forgot that the Golden Globes mean nothing, or possibly less than nothing, when it comes to the Emmys. Emmy favorite Andre Braugher got his obligatory (and deserved) Supporting Actor in a Comedy nomination and there was also an Outstanding Stunt Coordination nod, but otherwise "Brooklyn" was shut out on Thursday morning. "New Girl," "The Mindy Project," "Surviving Jack" and "Enlisted" were entirely shut out. And although "Dads" was shut out, Seth MacFarlane picked up nominations for "Cosmos" and for something "Family Guy" related.
