Plus: 'True Detective,' RuPaul's Drag Race' and more
Loser: 'The Americans'
Can a show somehow make a creative and critical jump in its second season and somehow be even more overlooked by the TV Academy? That's certainly the case with FX's "The Americans." The period drama earned two nominations last year, but only one in 2014 for Margo Martindale as a guest actress in a drama series. Of course, as wonderful as Martindale always is, her work in season two was effectively a cameo compared to season one (and mind you we're dying for her to return in season three). Dramatic series, actor, actress and writing are all incredibly competitive categories, but the idea that Michelle Dockery earned a nod over Keri Russell is just silly. Here's hoping for better luck in 2015.
