Taylor Kitsch - "Lone Survivor"
Pros: As we said with Ben Foster earlier, Universal is said to be confident about this true-life war drama's awards potential. And if they're not bluffing, then Kitsch is as likely to benefit as anyone, given that he plays the heroic role of Navy SEAL Michael P. Murphy, the first person to receive the US military's Medal of Honor for services in the Afghan War.
Cons: Again, as we said with Ben Foster earlier, the film has some skepticism to overcome. As does Kitsch himself: the young actor took a lot of flak for the back-to-back flops "John Carter" and "Battleship," which rather put the brakes on his star's ascendance. He has talent, but the burden of proof is on him.
