Angela Bassett - "Black Nativity"
Pros: Bassett received an Oscar nomination for Best Actress following her powerful portrayal of Tina Turner in 1993's "What's Love Got To Do With It." (Shockingly, she's a nine-time BET Awards nominee, but has never won). In the movie musical "Black Nativity," she's said to deliver an impressive turn which, unlike the Turner biopic, features her own singing. This seems right up the Golden Globes alley and Bassett has a history with the HFPA. She won Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical for "What's Love" in 1994.
Cons: This is beyond a reach for Oscar, but certainly not for the Globes.
