Sony Pictures and MGM wouldn't have batted an eyelash if the 007 blockbuster didn't land a stunt ensemble nod (it did), but what really got them excited was Javier Bardem's surprising supporting actor nod. It was only surprising in that many assumed it was more of a longshot than it actually was. Bardem now has a chance to be the first actor to ever land an Oscar nomination for a Bond film. That may be as much a cause for celebration as "Skyfall's" expected $1 billion global gross (well, maybe).
