"The last three months of this year, every week I found myself getting in the car and going to a movie that I actually wanted to see. And that's pretty rare. There are so many good movies this year, and so many worthy movies. You know, Rian Johnson is a friend of mine. I paid to see 'Looper' more than any other movie this year. He should have been nominated, too. Something was going to get pushed out; it's been just so competitive. We were lying in bed watching the nominations and hearing my name was just surreal. My wife said to me, 'Can you believe this movie you've been talking about for most of your adult life, the cap on it is going to be at the Academy Awards?' For me to actually be able to be there, I'm stoked. And all the people I've met along the way who wanted to talk me about the movie, that's awesome. That's really been what's so cool about it. I'm a middle-aged guy with kids and when I started out in this business I was a kid out of college and didn't have my shit together. So it's nice that it happened when it did because I'm in a place in the business where I can really appreciate it."
