Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Series, Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television
Hayden Panettiere for "Nashville"
Archie Panjabi for "The Good Wife"
Sarah Paulson for "Game Change"
Maggie Smith for "Downton Abbey"
Sofía Vergara for "Modern Family"
Who will win: Hayden Panettiere
Upset special: Sofia Vergara
Lowdown: Eventually, Sofia Vergara is gonna actually WIN one of these things. To date, Vergara has been nominated for nine individual Emmys, Golden Globes and SAG Awards, without winning. Realistically, she'll probably wait and get her Emmy for the childbirth episode. Instead, expect Golden Globe voters to be swayed by Hayden Panettiere's undersized sex appeal and the perception that her "Nashville" role is star-making. This will cause those of us sitting at home to giggle, but it's never stopped the HFPA before.
