Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series - Drama
Steve Buscemi for "Boardwalk Empire"
Bryan Cranston for "Breaking Bad"
Jeff Daniels for "The Newsroom"
Jon Hamm for "Mad Men"
Damian Lewis for "Homeland"
Who will win: Damian Lewis
Upset special: Jeff Daniels
Lowdown: Golden Globe voters want to embrace the shiny and new and then abandon them harshly. Case in point, last year's winner was Kelsey Grammer and he's nowhere to be seen. Along those lines, Jeff Daniels sounds like a very plausible winner for "Newsroom." Still, Damian Lewis sounds even more plausible as part of a hypothetical near-sweep for the Showtime drama. He's foreign! He's talented! He knows how to work a room! It's hard to imagine any of the other three winning this year with this group of voters.
