This year's top candidates from 'A' for 'Argo' to 'Z' for 'Zero Dark Thirty'
'Beasts of the Southern Wild'
Pro: This Sundance sensation is sure to be one of the most singular films in contention this year and features universally praised performances from Quvenzhané Wallis and Dwight Henry. And everyone loves an underdog.
Con: The film seemed to be Fox Searchlight's best option until the studio slid "Hitchcock" onto the 2012 slate, a move read by some as an indication that the studio wanted extra firepower in a season where there isn't an obvious "Juno" or "Slumdog Millionaire."
