2012 Golden Globe Nominees: Winners and Losers
An entire network, a possible Oscar fave and Muppets get the shaft
Winner: British shows American awards voters think are miniseries
For the second consecutive year, Idris Elba is nominated for Lead Actor in a Movie or Miniseries for "Luther." Part of how he's able to pull off that trick is that "Luther" is A REGULAR TV SERIES. While "Luther" was shut out of the overall Movies/Miniseries category, Golden Globes voters felt love for "Downton Abbey" and "The Hour," also nominating five stars from the two British favorites. There's a strong chance that "Downton Abbey" (pictured here) and "The Hour" are going to be able to repeat those nominations again next year, in large part because they are both REGULAR TV SERIES.
