2012 Golden Globe Nominees: Winners and Losers
An entire network, a possible Oscar fave and Muppets get the shaft
Loser: Gary Oldman and 'Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy'
Maybe his performance was too subtle and restrained for the HFPA, but Oldman's performance in this film version of the acclaimed miniseries is just as remarkable as the rest of the adaptation. Neither is dumbed down (though easily could have been) and Oldman's wily spymaster is never less than convincing. Even if the Globes don't care, Alec Guinness (the original Smiley) would be proud.
