Nick Nolte, "Warrior"
Pro: Nolte surprised many critics and moviegoers with his best performance in years as a now recovering alcoholic trying to reconnect with his two adult sons. A two-time Oscar nominee, Nolte hasn't been recognized since 1999 for "Affliction." Lionsgate has smartly already sent out the Academy screener for this one to help his case.
Con: A major crowd pleaser and critical hit, "Warrior" received a knockout at the box office. The studio will need Nolte to hit the campaign trail and some critics love to help solidify a nomination.
