Kirsten Dunst, "Melancholia"
Pro: Dunst won the best actress award at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival for her turn as a bride trying to deal with her own psychological issues as the world literally is coming to an end. It's arguably the most impressive performance of her career.
Con: Dunst has to hope for major critic's support to overcome some of the stigma that comes from being in a Lars von Trier film these days (as unfair as that may be to both artists).
