Pro: The role of Lisbeth Salander in the original Swedish language adaptation of Stieg Larsson's blockbuster novel made Noomi Rapace a global star. And as anyone who has read the book knows, Larsson puts Salander through the ringer. Considering there was buzz for Rapace to be considered for awards last year, how can Mara -- under the direction of David Fincher -- not be on the "must see" list for best actress contenders?
Con: If the movie is perceived as being better than the Swedish version Mara may turn out to be a stealth candidate in this category. If not? Well...
