Loser: Steven Spielberg's 2012 double-dose
Yes, "War Horse" is a Best Picture nominee and, with six nods, one of the the morning's most honored films. But two months ago, who would have predicted you could say that, while still saying that Steven Spielberg was left out of the Best Director film. The directing legend also saw "Tintin" snubbed in the animated category, less than two weeks after he was on stage collecting a Golden Globe trophy for the international hit. Spielberg is still a producer on "War Horse," so it's not like he had a nomination-free morning.
