2011 Grammy Nominations Predictions: Eminem, Lady Gaga, Arcade Fire

Predicting the Nominees: Grammy gets lively

Predicting the Nominees: Grammy gets lively

On Dec. 1 -- ehm, tomorrow -- the Recording Academy will stage the Grammy Nominations Concert Live!, to lift the curtain on frontrunners for prizes come February, at the 53rd annual Grammy Awards.

Considering nods were culled from the season that ran September in 2009 to September this year, there may be some old faces in with the new.

Not that Lady Gaga is old, per se, but her "Fame Monster" EP/re-released set will pack a punch beside relatively new albums like Arcade Fire's "The Suburbs" and fresh-faced Justin Bieber. Jay-Z's 2009 album "The Blueprint 3" will be up against acts like Eminem for honors.

Or so we think. In the following pages, Melinda Newman and Katie Hasty break down who they think will garner nominations during the televised concert event.

The Grammy Awards will presented on Feb. 13.

Seems like Beach House and The National should be on that Alternative list, and in a more perfect world the best album list as well. But who give's a poop - I'd personally rather see Justin Beiber or someone like that take every award; tarnish the poop out of something that's already very poopy to begin with.

One album a lot of pundits are predicting to take that "geezer" spot is Carole King and James Taylor's "Live at the Troubadour."
