Loser: Leonardo DiCaprio
How much has the HFPA loved DiCaprio over the years? They have nominated the "Titanic" star for a Globe seven times and given him one, for his performance in "The Aviator." He only has 19 real film credits to his name (sorry we're not counting "Don's Plum") and 17 before this past year's contenders "Inception" and "Shutter Island." Do the math and those are close to 50/50 odds. Moreover, most critics would say his last two performances rank among his best. And yet, like a jilted lover, the HFPA denied the superstar another invite to the party. Surprising to say the least.
