2011 Best Supporting Actor Oscar Contenders
Will a former winner dominate the field or will the Academy crown a new champion?
Andrew Garfield, "The Social Network"
Pro: Easily the most praised performance in David Fincher's critical and box office hit, Garfield is seemingly a lock for a nomination. It doesn't hurt he also delivered another strong turn in "Never Let Me Go" earlier in the fall. The recent up and comer is already "here."
Con: It would be hard to imagine Garfield not making the cut. The only concern is whether support for co-star Justin Timberlake could siphon some of his votes, but that would be a big surprise.
