2011 Best Supporting Actor Oscar Contenders
Will a former winner dominate the field or will the Academy crown a new champion?
Sam Rockwell, "Conviction"
Pro: Rockwell is pretty much beloved among his fellow actors. Luckily, "Conviction" is the sort of tearjerker performance that might finally get the rest of the Academy to take notice, at least for a nod.
Con: While Rockwell always comes up in conversation, he's never even been nominated for an Indie Spirit Award. "Conviction" hasn't exactly shinned at the box office or with critics. Rockwell just might have to wait another year for some peer love.
