True stories dominate this year's competition
"The Ghost Writer"
Pros: The thriller received overall strong reviews including some raves from Roger Ebert, the LA Times' Kenneth Turan and The New Yorker's David Denby. It's also a perfect screener movie for SAG and Academy members - if Summit campaigns it.
Cons: Roman Polanski's recent extradition case might have hurt his overall standing in Hollywood than when he was just in legal exile during his winning campaign for "The Pianist" eight years ago. The film also didn't perform as strongly as the box office as many had hoped or expected.
