Ben Affleck, "The Town"
Pro: Another comeback candidate, Affleck follows up his well received drama "Gone Baby Gone" with this critical and box office hit also set on the streets of his native Boston. The picture is a talked about favorite among many in the industry and has made Affleck a popular directing candidate around town.
Con: Not as subtle or nuanced as "Gone," Affleck may find it hard to crack this year's incredibly tough field with "The Town." In other years he would have a much stronger shot.
