Darren Aronofsky, "Black Swan"
Pro: Already one of the more acclaimed films of the year, "Black Swan" is expected to land on many critic's year end lists and generate a slew of Academy Award nomiantions. Aronofsky is also a prime candidate to win best director from numerous critic's groups and is acclaimed for his other films "Pi," "Requiem for a Dream" and "The Wrestler."
Con: While two of his last three films have earned three Oscar nominations, Aronofsky was surprisingly shut out of either the directing or screenplay categories.
