Pro: Wahlberg literally trained for years f taking boxing lessons and sculpting his body to resemble former contender Micky Ward's as much as possible. It may sound silly, but actor's who play boxers in prestige films have a strong track record of landing nominations (Robert De Niro, Hilary Swank, Denzel Washington, Will Smith).
Con: Those who have seen the picture are buzzing more about Wahlberg's co-stars: Melissa Leo and Christian Bale. The fact that Bale is even more prominent on the picture's poster than its leading man is eyebrow raising.
