Pro: Carrey is utterly fabulous as a real-life con man who charmed his way across Florida and the south with one scheme after another, but just happen to be gay as well.  The picture debuted at the Sundance Film Festival almost two years ago and has been released to strong reviews all across the world while encountering distribution issues in America. It's finally hitting the states in December and U.S. critics could give it new life.

Con: Carrey could absolutely land a Golden Globe nod for this one, but he may never be forgiven for his "Truman Show" Globe acceptance speech by members of the Academy.  The veteran comedic actor has made many Academy members a lot of money over the years, but sadly old grudges die hard in Oscarland.
