Pro: Reeves remade a beloved international classic, "Let the Right One In," and gave it its own voice and power. A restructured first act and a focus on the fears in American suburbia were the basis for his success. In theory, the writer's branch should reward his efforts. It's also one of the most critically acclaimed films of the year.
Con: Reeves can sneak in, but he needs critical year-end support to make it into the five.
