Pro: Boyle and Beaufoy took the account of Aron Ralston's five-day accidental entrapment in a mountain canyon and turned it into a moving cinematic experience. The structure avoids traditional flashbacks, but allows the audience to venture outside the potential claustrophobia of Ralston's unique predicament.
Con: As much as the structure is unconventional, is it Boyle's masterful directing that really makes the movie work? It's possible, but its hard to see "Hours" not making the cut.
