Like MGMT, it would have made more sense to nominate Ingrid Michaelson last year when she was riding high on her “Grey’s Anatomy” placements and was the poster girl for indie labels. While she’s been quieter this year, she’s been no less successful. Her song “Maybe” has taken up residence near the top of the Triple A chart for months.
