2010 Golden Globe Awards Contenders

More surprises such as 'District 9' and double love for actors from the HFPA

More double trouble for the Golden Globes

More double trouble for the Golden Globes

There are a number of guilty pleasures only the Hollywood Foreign Press Association's annual rite of passage, the Golden Globe Awards, can provide.  Whether its the intoxicated nominees, the magic of when the worlds of television and movies mix (or is that mutual disdain?) or arguably the biggest collection of true stars in one room (sorry Oscar), the Globes have cemented themselves as a must watch television event and an intriguing precursor to the movie industry's more serious and prestigious night down the road.

The 67th edition of the Globes will have some big changes, however.  The hilarious Ricky Gervais comes on board as the first host in eons and happily, the show will finally be broadcast live on the West Coast thereby exploding the Globes party scene across the greater Los Angeles basin (gotta love that 5 PM start time).

In terms of the actual awards, the HFPA's habits of recognizing their international brethren, making the trendy picks and rewarding actors with mutual nominations remain intact.  This year, Sandra Bullock, Meryl Streep, George Clooney and Stanley Tucci all have a legitimate shot at double acting nods and global critical stands outs such as Neil Bloomkamp's "District 9" may receive the recognition Oscar may deny them.

Oh, and of course, the Weinstein's will continue their magic hold over the organization.  Harvey has always been able to provide starpower and with "Basterds" and "Nine" he's got in spades.  Don't forget this is the show that rewarded "Great Debaters" with a Best Drama nod only two years ago.  "Great Debaters."  You remember that one, right?

Reputable sources have already scoured the HFPA for their constantly changing opinions and provided HitFix with a very accurate look at the org's current state of mind regarding the nominations.  Even with a few films to see over the next week this is one rundown you shouldn't miss.

The 67th Golden Globe Awards will announce their nominations on Dec. 15 at 8 AM EST.  The show itself will be broadcast on NBC on Jan. 17 beginning at 5 PM PT/ 8PM EST.

Note: Look for a rundown of the Globes TV contenders in the next week .  Additionally, the Best Original Score category is such a tossup at the moment it wasn't worth including (for now).

Hey, what about the Leona Lewis track for Avatar, I See You? That doesn't have any chances? By the time the nominations are announced, that song will *just* have been released...

Lets go down the list: 1)The details on the sets is just as breathtaking. The filming sites were beautiful. These are a talented group of folks I tell ya. GREAT job.

    2) Acting .. VERY good.... Michael Madsen, Vladimir Rajcic, Mark Dacascos, provided some very good acting and funny moments with Madsen are great. While I enjoyed the idea of Kristina's character.

Im a 100% hetero male and even I can say that some actors are a VERY good looking guy"s.

    3) The story was good very nice Mr.Rajcic, It has been said here but I will say it again. At one point, I just stopped trying to follow along and just enjoyed it.

Everyone stabbed everyone else in the back at least once. It wasn't "hard to follow" movie like this make you think. Very nice ..... You want that, go see ....

    4) Running time was perfect, music perfect, picture perfect.....good job.

All in all .. I was impressed with the movie.

I say go and see it. You wont be disappointed.

    Good Job.

Yes film is ready for Golden Globes and Oscars and wait you will see......

I love revenge movies when there done right. This one was perfect. From start to finish it had me and my wife on our seat.

The only little thing i would of changed is the conclusion. I give this movie a 9. And recommend it to everybody. Its a shame that this does happen in everyday life.

Terrific film with fine performances, some of the scenes were clever and it did have some cool moments.

Several very good twists, fun film. Acting perfect, music Wow very nice. Story was very different.

We are telling go see this film......nice.

I think that film "SERBIAN SCARS" is going to do good at a Golden Globes good luck

I went into this movie just wanting to watch Michael Madsen because I love him as an actor. When I got in there, I realized that this was not going to be just any movie.

This movie was kick ass and I am so glad that I went to see it. I would pay 10 times to go watch this movie in theaters. He really took it over the edge,

They really make each scene one for the books with creative ideas and thrilling scenes that keep you wondering what will be in store. It is one of the few movies that my heart was racing and my mind was wondering what would happen next. I love it and cannot wait to see it again.

    Big Fan here.

    Serbian Scars Great film.

This movie really keeps you on the edge of your seat, and the main character"s Alex and Dreq really makes this movie something memorable and just extraordinary. Michael Madsen also does a great job playing his character.

There are a few scenes that will guaranteed make you laugh and a few scenes that will pretty much tell you that Alex is just one kick butt character, no questions about it. Every scene you will be wondering what will happen next, because you honestly won't know. The movie has a few twists and turns and will always keep you guessing. If you want to see something that is highly suspenseful, will keep you on the edge of your seat, and includes 2, 3, very unique and questionable characters, then you must see this movie. Serbian Scars will not disappoint.
