How did Jimmy Fallon, Conan O'Brien, Tina Fey and Mathew Weiner do in our Emmy run-down?
Winner: Jimmy Fallon
In his biggest hosting gig to date, Jimmy Fallon acquitted himself well. The opening filmed/live musical number was a big winner, he got a couple random laughs through the night and, most importantly, the show wrapped up a full minute early. Much of the credit for the latter fact goes to producer Don Mischer and director Glenn Weiss. In any case, when an award show promises to run three hours and it runs exactly three hours, that's worthy of celebration. And Fallon seemed at least somewhat aware of when he was wanted and when he was supposed to just get out of the way. Very few hosts can say the same.
