Cannes Film Festival 2013

2010 Best Director Contenders

Will James Cameron face off against his ex-wife Kathryn Bigelow?

Jim Sheridan, "Brothers"

Previous nominations or wins:

Nominee, Best Adapted Screenplay, "My Left Foot" (1990)
Nominee, Best Director, "My Left Foot" (1990)
Nominee, Best Adapted Screenplay, "In the Name of the Father" (1994)
Nominee, Best Picture, "In the Name of the Father" (1994)
Nominee, Best Director, "In the Name of the Father" (1994)
Nominee, Best Original Screenplay, "In America" (2004)

Pros: A longtime bridesmaid at the Academy Awards, Sheridan could find himself recognized once again for pulling some fantastic performances out of his young cast.

Cons: Like "Lovely Bones," "Brothers'" early reviews have not been stellar.  At this point, Sheridan returning to the Oscar race seems iffy at best.
