From Penelope Cruz to Rachel Weisz to Emily Blunt what a weak class it is
Zooey Deschanel, "500 Days of Summer"
Previous nominations or wins: None
Pros: If any movie has a hardcore fanbase it's "500 Days" and Deschanel could benefit from their passionate support in the Academy. For an actress who is mostly known as the indie girl, Deschanel has a lot of big studio films to her credit like last year's "Yes Man," "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" and "Elf." Those career connections can add up come awards season if you're well-liked in the industry.
Cons: Co-star Joseph Gordon-Levitt is the centerpiece of the movie and the character with the biggest arc. Plus, not sure if Deschanel's Cotton commercials were the way to go (O.K., it won't really hurt, but seriously? Aren't they just the most awkward commercial endorsement you've seen in years?).
