At this point, this is a very tight race between "500" and "Precious." The former will have a strong amount of support among the traditionally younger skewing membership of Film Independent, but by the time ballots are due "Precious" may be riding a wave of year-end critical acclaim with numerous Globe, SAG and Oscar nods under is belt. Too close to call.
