Tuesday, January 4 - 'Live to Dance' debuts
"Live to Dance" (CBS) Tuesday, January 4
Paula Abdul is back! If you've been missing Paula Abdul for two years on "American Idol" (and for 15 or 20 years on the radio and MTV), news of her return is such a cause for celebration that you may not care what vehicle returns her to the the small screen. In reality, America's Favorite Loopy Judge is executive producing CBS' new competition dance series "Live to Dance," which is based on the popular British format "Got to Dance." Think of it as "American Idol" with dancing, except that people can compete as individuals or in groups, with no age limits or style restrictions. Andrew Günsberg hosts and Travis Payne and Kimberly Wyatt serve as experts along with Abdul. CBS is managing to sneak this one on the air early enough that it will have had time to either find an audience or fail spectacularly before that "American Idol" juggernaut rolls back into town.
