Why: Hey girl, the last time Ryan Gosling and director Derek Cianfrance teamed up, we got the devastating “Blue Valentine,” so frankly, we'd follow them to a “W.E.” sequel if that's where they wanted to go. Their new collaboration, however, is a very different proposition to their 2010 marital drama: a crime thriller starring a bleach-blond Gosling as a motorcycle stunt rider who turns to bank robbery to support his girlfriend (Eva Mendes) and son, it sounds an awful lot closer to everyone's favourite exercise in Gos-gazing, Nicolas Winding Refn's “Drive,” right down to the leather jacket. What's not to like? With Toronto currently holding exclusive dibs on this one, it's the only reason I wish I wasn't heading to the Lido instead.
