Why it was unlikely: Admittedly, this one is weird mostly in hindsight - seeing O.J. anywhere outside a glum courtroom setting is jarring at this point. That said, he was only the second athlete to host "SNL" after NFL quarterback Fran Tarkenton, so his appearance was almost unprecedented.
How'd it go? Hate to tell you this, but by all accounts Simpson was a lively, engaging presence on the show. Not happy about it.
