Conor’s frog prince from season 1, episode 8
In the finale of the first season, the remaining two contestants were given the task of re-imagining fairy tale characters in a different genre. The Frog Prince as a ghost story by Conor McCullagh made him the show’s first winner.
Glenn Hetrick’s take: “It was anyone’s game at that point. Here Conor’s really showcasing his background at having worked in the effects industry before. The half-and-half face is a very difficult thing to do without creating a symmetrical line down the middle of the face. This blend from man into creature is perfect in its asymmetry. It’s perfect in its coloring. The eye is beautiful. The paint job is beautiful. And on top of all of it, I remember distinctly that he had worked a mechanical gag in and he had a bladder so the throat would inflate and deflate.”
