Jennifer Aniston comes home to network TV comedy
Why is this such an insult? Courteney Cox has had multiple post-"Friends" TV shows. Lisa Kudrow has had multiple post-"Friends" TV shows. If you include "Joey," Matt LeBlanc has had multiple post-"Friends" TV shows. Matthew Perry has had nothing BUT post-"Friends" TV shows. Even David Schwimmer finally broke down and did a TV pilot this past development season. And Jennifer Aniston remains steadfastly movie-centric and, thanks to the occasional inexplicable hit like "We're the Millers," she keeps getting to topline movies. And most of them have been just awful. Why would Aniston rather do "Just Go With It" and "The Bounty Hunter" and "Love Happens" rather than finding a good writer and doing something for TV? I don't know. She would get paid WELL to do an NBC sitcom, so don't say "Money." And don't say, "But she's funny in 'Horrible Bosses,'" because a TV show wouldn't stop her from doing fifth-lead performance in a movie comedy if the material was good. Aniston earned six Emmy nominations and even won one on "Friends." She deserved that recognition. Nobody's been giving her that kind of acclaim since. We would be happy to have her back on TV.
