Best known for: Hole's "Live Through This" and "Celebrity Skin" (music), "The People vs. Larry Flynt" (acting)
Last seen in: As an actress, Love's last feature-film credit goes way back to 2002's "Trapped" opposite Kevin Bacon and Charlize Theron. Musically, she recently released the double A-side single "You Know My Name"/"Wedding Day," though her last album proper was the Hole-ish LP "Nobody's Daughter."
Comeback plan: Ever the mercurial talent, the Hole frontwoman's fierce intelligence has often been obscured by her erratic public behavior over the years, from stints in rehab to (more recently) a string of Twitter diatribes that in one heavily-publicized libel case cost her a whopping $430,000 (Love settled out of court). And yet at the height of her fame her output was often stunning, from the near-perfect 1994 rock opus "Live Through This" (still one of my all-time favorite albums) to her affecting performance in 1996's "The People vs. Larry Flynt." Now that she seems to have balanced out somewhat - she's reportedly been sober for several years, a claim that's easier to believe now that her run-ins with the law have petered out - I'd love to see her release the bare-bones confessional album "Nobody's Daughter" had promised to be but wasn't and fight (and she will have to fight) for a meaty film role like it was '96 all over again. Also, it might be nice to see that reunion with Erlandson, Schemel and Auf der Maur actually come to fruition.
