15 things we learned from 'The Dark Knight Rises' trailer

Catwoman, Commisioner Gordon, Gotham and Bane revelations

Bane is a badass, but boy is he hard to understand

Christopher Nolan, you're a genius. You've been robbed of an Oscar for both "Inception" and "The Dark Knight."  Everyone knows you wouldn't make a third "Dark Knight" film for the wrong reasons.  However, none of us can understand a damn thing Bane (Tom Hardy) is saying in the brand new trailer.  Can audiences get a little ADR love please?

"When Gotham is Ashes...You have my permission to die."

That's what he says. It's perfectly audible. People are blowing this way out of proportion and/or are completely def.

Agreed with Barret... no problems whatsoever comprehending What Bane says... if this is how he's going to sound throughout the movie there will be no issues.

I couldn't understand what Bane was saying in the trailer, nor could I understand what he was saying during the 7-minute Dark Knight Rises preview when I saw Ghost Protocol yesterday. I thought it was my personal sub-par hearing only to realize that all of the people I was with (about 7 total) couldn't either. They should really fix that....or add subtitles.

I had no problem understanding what he says. I don't know what all the fuss is about.

Mandrake1979 Also HOW? How does Joseph Gordon Levitt sure looks like Dick Grayson. You should explain that one please.

ben Yeah, that seems like a pretty baseless assertion. I wish it were true though--I'd love to see even an allusion to Robin. Everyone badmouths him because they're thinking of the silly speedo wearing kid spouting "Holy whatever Batman"s, but Robin is actually one of the best characters in modern Batman comics for my money.

James Michael Mandrake, there actually is a subtle reference to Robin in the trailer. When they show the shots of the crowd at the football game early on, someone is holding up a sign for the Rouges, and the 'R' looks really similar to the Robin 'R' in the comics. At least, I thought it did. Not sure if anyone else saw it.

Please stop using by the HITFIX staff, it seems to give whoever writes these cart-blanche to write like an idiot. They have been slowing getting worse.

I understood bane in the trailer. The preview before MI4 is a different story. This trailer really didn't do anything to get me real excited for the new movie.

"With Gotham in ashes, you have my permission to die."

It sounds to me like Bane has captured and is tormenting Bruce Wayne, only allowing him to die when he says it's okay. And that would mean that Bane knows Batman's identity, presumably through the League of Shadows.

You chuckleheads need to turn all that loud rock music down a bit, save your ears. Bane is indeed perfectly audible.

Havn't seen the prologue so I cant comment on his voice there, but his one line in the trailer is perfectly audible. Those who can't understand him in the trailer need to get their hearing checked.

This article should have mentioned the pearl necklace that Selena Kyle is briefly shown wearing... It is identical to the necklace that Bruce's dad intended to give to his mother in Batman Begins. It was stolen by the man that killed his parents.
