The Flash
Previous incarnations: "The Flash," TV series (1990-1991)
Movies or TV: Movies
Why: CBS's 1990's TV series "The Flash" might have been ahead of its time. Working off the cinematic style of Tim Burton's "Batman" blockbuster (released the year before), "The Flash" had a killer costume, a charismatic Barry Allen in John Wesley Shipp, fantastic cinematography and a memorable Danny Elfman score. A movie version of the Scarlet Speedster has been in the works for a few years, but it's under the guidance of Greg "Let me ruin every DC character as quickly as possible" Berlanti. In order for a big screen Flash to work it's going to need someone with vision and an innovative cinematic style. It's a fine line between having your super hero look cool running fast and looking cheesier than the "Misfits of Science." Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment know The Flash deserves his own movie franchise, but if they don't find the right filmmaker they'll have another expensive "Green Lantern" disaster on their hands.
