'The Days and Nights of Molly Dodd' (NBC)
Premiere date: May 21, 1987
One of the landmark single camera comedies, "Molly Dodd" was "Sex and the City" before Carrie ever got out of college. The title character was a divorced woman still trying to find herself in Manhattan in the late '80s. Molly's life was pretty limited to the yuppie 80's world of the Upper West or East Side, but the Jay Tarses created show broke ground and became a critics' favorite. Despite good ratings, NBC didn't think it fit into its highly rated TV Thursday night comedy lineup and it eventually moved to Lifetime where it lost a good chunk of its creative luster.
