Dennis Quaid, 'Vegas'
Where You've Seen Him Before: On TV? In "The Sky Is Falling," the fourth episode of the fourth season of "Baretta," Quaid's only previous episodic TV work. Or perhaps you've seen one of his 70-plus feature films like "Breaking Away," "The Right Stuff," "The Big Easy," "Frequency," "Traffic," "The Rookie"... One of them may have even aired on TV at some point.
Breakout Role: Legendary real-life Las Vegas Sheriff Ralph Lamb on the CBS period drama "Vegas."
Why: Obviously, Quaid is more famous than everyone else on this list (save Demi Lovato) put together, and he should do quite well in CBS' adults 25-54 target demo, assuming they're fine with the show's early '60s setting. But outside of that "Baretta" episode and a handful of TV movies, Quaid's been a movie actor all his career, and it'll be interesting to see how his laid-back, ageless charm does on the small screen. Based on the cowboys vs. gangsters pilot and Quaid's scenes opposite both Michael Chiklis and Carrie-Anne Moss, I suspect very well.
