Where you've seen him before: "Robin Hood" (2010), BBC's "Spooks" (known as "MI5" in the U.S.)
Breakout Role: "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey"
Why: As Thorin Oakenshield, the brawny leader of the dwarves traveling along with Bilbo and Gandalf, Armitage will perform much of the film's muscle work, and even a pound of makeup can't hide his good looks. Plus, there are two more "Hobbit" films to look forward to, giving audiences plenty of time to fall in love with him -- much like Viggo Mortensen in the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy, only shorter.
