What rock band will take the crown after a low-key 2013?
This past year was a so-so one for rock music. Arcade Fire and Nine Inch Nails are household names, but other critically acclaimed acts like Queens of the Stone, My Bloody Valentine, Kurt Vile and The National and didn't move the needle much in the commercial or radio sphere. Hits from Imagine Dragons, Lorde, Vampire Weekend and Passenger softened up the rock dial. Though Black Sabbath, Kings of Leon and Pearl Jam fans will beg to differ, 2014 could use much more rock 'n' roll. The Black Keys, Foo Fighters, Muse, Radiohead, Jack White, Tool, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Green Day: how's your calendar year look? OK, and The Killers and Coldplay can come too.
