15 big movie questions for summer: 'Prometheus,' Dark Knight Rises,' Tyler Perry

Could this be the greatest movie summer in decades?

Will Meryl Streep rule August again with 'Hope Springs'? (And can she make Tommy Lee Jones likable?)

Three-time Oscar winner Meryl Streep ("The Iron Lady") has quietly ruled the recent summer box office with such hits as "The Devil Wears Prada" (2006), "Mamma Mia!" (2008) and "Julie & Julia" (2009). All three successfully served as counter-programming to the typical action blockbusters of the season. She'll try again this summer with "Hope Springs, a dramedy in which she and Tommy Lee Jones play a couple who take part in a weekend of intense marriage counseling. It reunites Streep with her "Devil" director, Dave Frankel ("Marley and Me"). Oh, and it also just happens to star someone named Steve Carell (can't hurt). Can Meryl's magic even make audiences fall for Jones, who's recently only done variations on the gruff authority figure he almost always seems to play ("Captain America," the upcoming "Men in Black III" and "Lincoln")?
