"Naked & Afraid" (Discovery)
What it is: A man and woman who have never met before are plopped into a remote location and told to survive for 21 days with nothing more than one personal item. For doing this, they get... nothing. Well, bragging rights. And a very even tan.
Why it's weird: Even on "Survivor" people get some food every once in a while, plus a shot at a big pile of money. Most people don't even want to share the armrest with a stranger on a cross-country flight, much less fight over rainwater with some naked person they've never met before.
Why it's awesome: It turns out being naked and afraid brings out some primal behavior in people -- and not what you might expect. Even pairs who hate one another at the beginning are usually bonded in the end -- even if they don't really want to see one another again. Plus, everyone has a slightly different approach to the "hey, I'm naked, you're naked" reveal.
